Intermuseum Conservation Association

The Intermuseum Conservation Association (ICA), established in 1952 in Oberlin, Ohio, was the first of the regional art conservation centers and is the only not-for-profit regional art conservation treatment and education facility in the region.

The center provides conservation and preservation services for anyone with a need, including its 30 100-plus institutional and individual members. ICA's conservation staff is represented by broadly experienced individuals who hold graduate degrees in conservation specialties through university training programs in the United States and abroad. In addition to the conservation specialties provided by the current staff, the center is also able to provide the services of conservators who work in collaboration with the ICA which allows a full range of conservation and preservation services including paintings, murals, frames, icons, polychrome sculpture, works on paper, photographs, textiles and objects. The ICA is pleased to be supported, in part, by the Ohio Arts Council, the Ohio Preservation Council, The Cleveland Foundation, and Cuyahoga Arts and Culture.
