Lyrasis

Lyrasis is a not-for-profit membership network of libraries and other information organizations. Created in 2009 by the merger of PALINET and SOLINET, two well-established regional library networks, Lyrasis members now include over 4,000 member libraries, information centers, and cultural heritage institutions across the US and beyond. The mission of Lyrasis's Preservation Services is to improve institutions' ability to maintain long-term, cost-effective access to information resources in both traditional and networked collections. We fulfill our mission by providing education and training, information and referral, consultations, and regional coordination. Through these activities, we promote the integration of common-sense preservation strategies into ongoing procedures and routines to ensure access to library and archival information resources. The Field Services program has been providing services to cultural institutions in the Southeast and across the country since 1984. This program is supported by grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Division of Preservation and Access.
